Mr. Edward Jeffery Knapp, affectionately known as Jeff, age 50, of Catfish Court, Ridgeville, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, July 13, 2013, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013, from Cottageville Baptist Church, 11643 Cottageville Highway, Cottageville. Entombment will follow in Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Born April 8, 1963, a native of Charleston, he was a son of Mr. Dale LeRoy Knapp, Sr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Judy Knapp. He was employed as a site development operator for Banks Construction in North Charleston before he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis nearly nineteen years ago. Since that time, he has been a dedicated volunteer and advocate for Multiple Sclerosis Support Groups as well as others affected by this condition. He was a dedicated member of Cottageville Baptist Church where he was actively involved and was an essential part of the founding of the Churchs Bible Study Group.
Surviving in addition to his parents, Dale and Elizabeth of Cottageville are: a daughter, Karly Delight Reith of the home; three brothers, Horace Dale Knapp and Shannon of Summerville, Bruce Wayne Knapp, Sr. and Patricia of Ridgeville, and Dale LeRoy Knapp, Jr. and Sarah of Cottageville; and two sisters, Jewell Ann Jurco and Timothy of Summerville and Tammy Elizabeth White and James of Goose Creek. There are numerous nieces and nephews that also survive as well as a dedicated and loving companion of many years, Myrtle Aker of Walterboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: Cottageville Baptist Church Building Fund, 11643 Cottageville Highway, Cottageville, South Carolina 29435.
