Eartha Smalls

Mrs. Eartha L. Smalls was born in Walterboro, South Carolina on August 20, 1944. She was born to the late Mrs. Anna Mae Farr.



Mrs. Eartha L. Smalls was a graduate of Colleton High School. There she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart Edward Smalls Jr. In June 1965, Eartha united in Holy Matrimony to Edward Smalls Jr. and from that union two children were born. In 1967, they established their first business Sure Shine Floor Cleaning Co.; following were several businesses such as Future Force Videos, E&J Videos and Fast Wear Clothing, which made them successful entrepreneurs. Edward Smalls Jr. preceded her in death in 2000. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother.



On Monday, March 29, 2010 at 9:30 p.m., the Lord called her home to take her eternal rest.



She leaves to cherish her memories two children, Mr. Burgess Edward Smalls (Harriett Smalls) of Jonesboro, Georgia and Nicole Smalls-Rodriguez (Shaun R. Rodriguez) of New Jersey. Her sisters, Addie Mae (Baby Ann) Parker of South Carolina, Lula Mae and Bessie Farr of Jacksonville FL. Her brothers, Mr. Thomas Farr, Ernest Farr, Arthur Farr all of Jacksonville FL. And her two sisters who preceded her in death Willie Mae and Gail Farr and a brother who preceded her in death Mr. William Farr. Her three granddaughters, Kayla Renee and Kristina Alicia Smalls of Jonesboro, Georgia and Reyshelle Mariah Rodriguez of New Jersey. And her only grandson, ReyShaun Edward Rodriguez of New Jersey. Aunts Dorothy Hugine and Jessie Mae Nelson both of New York. Brother in-laws, James D. Smalls (Catherine Smalls) of Green Pond South Carolina and Albert L. Smalls of New York. Sister in-laws, Julie Smalls and Vioris Smalls both of New York and Lucinda Smalls of Walterboro South Carolina. And a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.



Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at New Covenant Ministries, 2593 Clover Hill Road, Green Pond. Interment will follow in Pynes Cemetery, Pynes Road, Green Pond.



The viewing will be Friday, April 2, 2010 from 9 am 8 pm at the funeral home.
