Douglas Marion Kinard, 90, of Ehrhardt, SC passed away on October 30, 2013 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be held 3 pm, Sunday, November 3, 2013 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dan Fogle. Interment will be held privately in the Kinard Family Cemetery.
Mr. Kinard was born in Lodge, SC, the son of B.H. and Lillie Kinard. He was a long time farmer and founder of Kinard Enterprises and Kinard Wood Preserving. He was a World War II veteran, mechanic, builder, entrepreneur, and an avid hunter and fisherman. In his retirement years, he became known as the puzzleman because of his love of jigsaw puzzles.
Mr. Kinard, beloved husband and father, is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eula Stuckey Kinard; sons, Terry (Alice) Kinard, Scotty (Adrienne) Kinard, Mark (Tenna) Kinard; daughters, Ginger (John) Sanders, Pamela (Ligon) Hutto; grandchildren, Tia (Sean) Slater, Clayt (Nikki) Kinard, Julie (Michael) McDaniel, Jonathan (Catherine) Sanders, Joshua (Meghan) Sanders, Louis (Jessica) Hutto, Anna (Troy) Black, Rachel Hutto, Lydia Hutto, Ben Hutto, Zebulun Hutto, Tenna Marie Kinard; three step grandchildren: Johnnie Martin, Julie Walker, and Lehe Fender; and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Rebekah Hutto.
The family extends a special thanks to caregivers, Mary Dale and Sylvia Pyle, and Tri-County Hospice staff.
