Douglas Ketchum

Mr. Douglas Howard Ketchum, Sr., 75, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026, at his residence under the care of Agape Hospice.

Born August 26, 1950, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Walter Ketchum and Minnie Lee Parker Ketchum. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing and watching westerns – especially Hopalong Cassidy.

Surviving are: his wife of 50 years, Vera Craven Ketchum of Walterboro; children, Christy Pellum and her husband Rodney of Walterboro and Doug Ketchum, Jr. and his wife Christina of Walterboro; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Peyton, Avery, Stanley, Dylan, Sarah, Bryson, and Morgan; former daughter-in-law, Rebecca Ritter of Walterboro; and brother, Marvin Ketchum of Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ketchum.

The family would like to especially thank his nurses and care team from Agape Hospice for the love and care they have given Doug during his illness.

Funeral services will be held 5 o’clock, Monday, May 11, 2026, at Northside Christian Church, 200 Northside Drive, Walterboro. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation following the service.
