Dottie Bishop

Mrs. Dorothy Sunde Bishop, affectionately known as “Dottie”, 81, of Ehrhardt, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at her residence.

Born June 26, 1935 in Bemidji, Minnesota, she was a daughter of the late John Sunde and Anne Carlson Sunde.  She was a retired legal secretary, having worked for Steinberg Law Firm and lastly, Robert G. Howe, Attorney at Law, in Charleston.  She was a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church in Ehrhardt.  Mrs. Dottie loved life and lived life to the fullest.  She loved to travel, was an avid bowler for over 50 years, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, was hard working and independent.  She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years.  She was a member of the Young at Heart Club and the Golden Age Club, where she served as Treasurer.  Most of all, she loved her family and centered her life around them.  Her favorite saying was “Laugh, and the world laughs with you.  Cry, and you cry alone.”

Surviving are: her husband of 38 years, Olin C. Bishop of Ehrhardt; daughters, Debra Taylor and her husband Gary of Sylvania, Georgia, Becky Osmond and her husband Gerry of Charleston, Teresa Burke of West Columbia, and Lisa Sousa of Lexington; grandchildren, Tisha Logan, Zack Taylor, Josh Taylor, Ashley Newman, Lauren Livengood, Macay Burke, Amber Jeffcoat and Cecile Sousa; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Alvina Lorentz, Shirley Cuyler, Lorraine Pemberton, and Darlene Dillon; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by brothers, Delyle Sunde and Dale Sunde; and a sister, Dorothy Jean Hawkins.

The family would like to thank the Regency Hospice team who provided such great care for Mrs. Dottie- Chris Nettles, RN, Delores Glover, CNA, and Ben Langdale, Chaplain.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Mount Pleasant Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Road, Ehrhardt.  Interment will follow in Ehrhardt Cemetery.
