Mrs. Dorothy Bell Jeffcoat, 89, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Thursday evening, January 29, 2015, at her home. She was the wife of thirty-three years to Reverend Edward L. Jeffcoat and was the widow of Mr. James P. Bell.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Sunday afternoon, February 1, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery, Jolly Street, Hampton
Born August 18, 1925 in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Wardie H. Humphries and the late Mildred Hanna Humphries. She was a retired sewing machine operator and was a member of the Edisto Pentecostal Holiness Church. She will always be remembered for her devotion as mission worker.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: her daughter, Mildred B. Taylor of Summerville; six step-children; a special friend of twenty five years and devoted caregiver during Dots illness, Rachel Cone; and a sister, Glendora McElveen of Barnwell. There are three grandchildren, Herbie, Tammy, and Wendy and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren that also survive; as well as a dear friend, Elizabeth Abbey.
