Born March 13, 1925, a native of Bryan, Texas, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Egan and the late Leona Mae Edwards Egan. Dorothy was a devoted housewife and a true Texan at heart with a “fiery spirit”. She made the lowcountry of South Carolina her home in the latter part of her life to be closer to her family, but always referred to herself as just visiting. She formerly attended Northside Christian Church in Walterboro and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a former Den Leader for the Cub Scouts. She was a lady and knew elegance and class. She loved paintings and crafts. The symphony, stage musicals and plays, and classical music were among some of her favorite pastimes. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor.
