Dorothy Williams Baker

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Williams Baker, 83, of Ravenel, entered into rest Friday, July 24, 2026, at her residence. She was the loving wife of fifty-two years to the late Mr. Herman H. Baker.

Born July 27, 1942, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Horace G. “Pete” Williams and the late Pearl Owens Magee. She was a graduate of Saint Paul’s High School as well as Palmer Business College. She worked a dedicated career in administration for various companies including General Electric, Baker Material Handling, Huber Essick, and The Citadel. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ravenel, where she was active in her attendance and a part of the card ministry. She was a member of Ravenel’s most iconic group, “The Bojanglers” which was a group of fellow ladies of Ravenel that took their Friday morning meetings at Bojangles very serious. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are: two children, Angela Baker Brazelton and her husband Steve of Ravenel, and Timothy Baker and his wife Melissa of Greer; and three grandchildren, Olivia Denton and her husband Nick, Wade Baker, and Gracie Baker.

Flowers will be accepted, or the family has suggested that memorials be directed in her memory to: First Baptist Church of Ravenel Building Fund.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, July 28, 2026, from First Baptist Church of Ravenel, 5987 Highway 165, Ravenel. The Reverend Marty Hogue officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 10 o’clock that morning in the church sanctuary.
