Doris Vaughan Tharpe

Mrs. Doris Vaughan Tharpe, 87, of Ehrhardt, passed away January 4, 2016, at Lowcountry Assisted Living in Ehrhardt.
Mrs. Tharpe was born May 22, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to Dr. Thomas H. Vaughan and Florence Kleinert Vaughan. Mrs. Tharpe loved flowers and animals. She loved the beach, having lived at Edisto Beach for forty years. She was always a great help to her husband at Tharpe’s Store. Mrs. Tharpe was a member of the West Ashley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Mrs. Tharpe is survived by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Renelda James Tharpe, Jr., of Ehrhardt. She was predeceased by her only brother, Richard A. Vaughan.
