Doris Brabham Benton

Mrs. Doris Brabham Benton, 96, entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, June 2, 2021, at her residence in the Forest Hills area of Walterboro.   She was the wife of the late Mr. Paul Revere Benton.

Born June 12, 1924, Lodge, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Jesse DuBoise Brabham and the late Laura Mae Ulmer Brabham.  She retired as a bookkeeper from the savings department of Farmers and Merchants Bank in Walterboro.   She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro.    She was a talented seamstress and will always be remembered for her love of shopping.

Surviving are: a son, Paul Craig Benton of Summerville; and a granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Benton.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse D. Brabham, Jr.; and a sister, Jennie Rae Fender.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, June 7, 2021, from the graveside at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.  The Reverend Dr. Scott Wachter officiating.
