Doreen Mahon Varnadoe

Doreen Mahon Varnadoe, 75, of Ruffin, entered into rest eternal Sunday, July 4, 2021, at her residence while under the care of Amedysis Hospice.  She was the loving wife of fifty-one years to the late Mr. Kenneth Varnadoe, Sr.

Born November 3, 1945, in Queens, New York, she was a daughter of the late Walter Mahon and the late Dorothy Tants Mahon.  She met her husband while he was serving in the military and made the Lowcounty of South Carolina her home.  She worked in several textile manufacturing companies here in Walterboro and operated a consignment store in Santee.   She was a member of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Walterboro and will always be remembered for her love of gardening and the devotion she had for her family.

Surviving are: a son, Chet Varnadoe of Ruffin; and her two beloved dogs, “Tootsie” and “Spike”.  She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth “K.J.” Varnadoe, Jr.

A private graveside litany will be recited by Father Jacob Joseph at Glendale Memorial Cemetery in Walterboro.
