Born November 24, 1959, a native of Colleton County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Mackie Nettles and the late Maude Ginn Nettles. Since an early age, Donnie made his home in Charleston where every possible moment was devoted to his career. He became a success in the real estate industry, serving as broker-in-charge of his own Realty Company as well as having worked closely with numerous agencies across the lowcountry of South Carolina. Donnies style in business allowed him to serve well all walks of life from those who were beach and river lovers, city dwellers or country folk. Donnie not only made the sale, but he became a trusted friend throughout the process.
Donnie was the former owner of Nettles Convenience Store which was an icon on the Sniders Highway in Walterboro. He was raised by his family to be a Christian and love the Lord in the old family church, Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1 in Walterboro.
Donnies smile and all too loving character made him a friend to countless people. He was a welcomed friend at any occasion and everywhere he went always became the life of the party. Among the pastimes of his life were spending time at his second home on the Edisto River and a small joy in gardening. Donnie surely left this world having made it a brighter place.
