Donna Bray Ridgle

November 7, 1940 — July 1, 2016

Mrs. Donna Bray Ridgle, 75, of Ruffin, entered into rest Friday morning, July 1, 2016, at Life Care Center of Charleston.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, July 6, 2016, from Doctor’s Creek Baptist Church, 126 Doctor’s Creek Road, Walterboro.  The Reverend Darnell Barner and The Reverend Ken Jernigan officiating.  Interment will follow in the churchyard.

Born November 7, 1940, in Liberal, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Murel B. Bray and the late Ethel Mae Turner Garrett.  She was the co-owner as well as the office manager of R and R Garage in Hardeeville and also worked for ten years with the Jasper County Emergency Medical Services, before making the Hudson Mill Community of Ruffin her home in 2009.  For many years, she and her husband resided in Hardeeville where they were members and active in many aspects of the church’s work at First Baptist Church of Hardeeville and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.   In Walterboro, she was a member of Doctor’s Creek Baptist Church as well as the King’s Daughter’s and Men Sunday School Class at the church.  She will always be remembered for the love and devotion she possessed for her family.  She was a very talented southern cook.

Surviving are: her husband of forty-five years, Mr. John Bernard Ridgle;  four children, Jeff Cramer of Pennsylvania, Connie Meyer of Hawaii, Vicki Parker of Waycross, Georgia, and Kenna Robertson of Ruffin; and three sisters, Sharon Schmiedeskamp of Washington, Carol Garrett of Washington, Patricia Janney of New Mexico.   She is survived by many grandchildren to include, Joseph Robert, Jesse Paul, Joshua, Kelly, Ashley, Adam, Jamiee, Alicia, and Timothy and eleven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Burkhart of Arkansas.

Family and friends are invited to call during a time of visitation Tuesday evening from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock at THE BRICE W.
