Mrs. Donna Jean Carter Hiers, 70, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, December 29, 2022 at Colleton Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Clarence Riddick Hiers.
Born January 3, 1952 in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late William B. Carter and Dorothy Moore McAbee. She was a member of Hendersonville Baptist Church. Donna loved working with her puzzles and playing cards and was especially good at playing UNO. More than anything, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: her children, Allen Dean Coggins (Patricia Roth) of Walterboro, Billy Coggins (Heidi) of Bamberg, Shelly Hoff (Tony) of Summerville, and Leith Willis of Walterboro; grandchildren, Allen Dean Coggins II, Dillon Coggins, Andrew Stinchchomb, Brittany Coggins, Austin Coggins (Cierra), J.J. Butts, Bru’nasia White, Chris Lee Hoff, and Destiny Crum; sisters, Joyce Myers of New Hope and Janice Hill of Wauchula, Florida; brothers, Leonard Carter of Walterboro and Alvin Carter of St. Matthews; her caretaker, Lisa Brown; grandpa, William Ruark; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lynn Bazzle, Michael Carter, Keith Carter, Bill Carter, Jerome Carter, and Al Carter.
A memorial service will be held 3 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, January 7, 2023, at Hendersonville Baptist Church.
