Mr. Donald Albert Polk, 72, of Ashton Road, Islandton, entered into rest Sunday morning, April 13, 2014, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, April 16, 2014, from the cryptside at Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Born June 10, 1941, a native and lifelong resident of Islandton, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Bennie A. Polk and the late Eunice P. Polk. He served in the South Carolina National Guard and was a retired furniture maker. He will be fondly remembered for his avid love of fishing.
Surviving are: his wife, Jeanie Ruth Hudson Polk; children, Christy Dewitt and her husband Scott of Cottageville, Lanette Polk of Walterboro, Jimmy Lee Hudson of Ruffin, and Tammy Angerer of Walterboro; and a sister, Virginia Carter of Walterboro. There is also one grandchild, Chelsey DeWitt.
