Donald Edward Martin, Sr.

Mr. Donald Edward Martin, Sr., 71, of Smoaks, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born July 4, 1949 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Mr. Lawton Martin, Jr. and the late Mrs. Vivian Evelyn Beheler.  He was the devoted husband to the late Mrs. Wanda Rentz Martin and was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Martin had a great love for farming and the outdoors. You would often find him in his spare time hunting or fishing.  He enjoyed the sport of football, Nascar and baseball, he was a avid Alabama fan.

Surviving are: his children, Donald "Tiger" E. Martin, Jr. (Christy) of Walterboro, Donavan Derek Martin (Heather) of Reevesville, Mandy Bishop (T.J Lyons) of Smoaks and Greg Rentz (Belinda) of Ehrhardt; grandchildren, Brandi Varn (William), Laura Blankenship (Garon), Victoria Martin, Aubrey Martin, Becca Martin, Nicholas Martin, Briar Lyons, Ashton Easterling (Hailey), Danielle Easterling and Russell Bowen; great grandchildren, Kynslie Varn, Sauls Varn, Adelyn Blankenship, Hadley Easterling and Kaleb Easterling; he also leaves behind a brother Allen Martin of Ruffin.

In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by a grandchild, Alyssa Bishop and a great grandchild, Liam Varn

Graveside services will be held at a later date.
