Donald Langdale

Mr. Edward Donald Langdale, 78, of Pleasant Grove Road, Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Roper Hospital in Charleston.



Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with The Reverend David Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Churchyard, 7345 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro.



Mr. Langdale was born December 7, 1932, in Walterboro, SC and was a son of the late Benjamin H. Langdale and the late Hazel Smith Langdale. He was a Construction Inspector with the USDA Soil Conservation Service. He served his country in the South Carolina National Guard and was a member, former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He loved working in his yard, wood carving and especially helping others.



Surviving are: his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Nancy Evans Langdale of Walterboro; two sons, Gary Langdale and his wife Lisa of Kannapolis, NC and Brent Langdale and his wife Christi of Walterboro; one daughter, Tammy Joann Long and her husband David of Green Pond; two brothers, Harold Langdale of Walterboro and Jervey Langdale of Alabama; four sisters, Naomi Medlen of Walterboro, Joann Craven of Walterboro, Eugenia Horseman of Delaware and Jeanette Craven of Walterboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Langdale, and brother, Wilford Langdale of Athens, GA.



In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that memorials be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 7345 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro, or Gideons International Camp of Walterboro, Post Office Box 84, Walterboro, SC 29488.
