Donald W Houtz, Jr.

Mr. Donald Wayne Houtz, Jr., known by many as “Don”, age 67, entered into rest Friday morning, December 11, 2020, at home while under the care of Amedisys Hospice.

Born September 6, 1953, in Belleville, Illinois, he was a son of the late Donald Wayne Houtz, Sr. and the late Anna Mae Bradshaw Houtz.  He served in the United States Army and was a retired master carpenter.  Don was an aviation enthusiast, enjoying building as well as flying aircrafts.

Surviving are:  two sons, Donald Ross Houtz and Morgan Christopher Houtz and their mother, his former wife and dear friend, Dianne O’Quinn Messersmith.  He is also survived by three sisters, Georgia Martin, Gloria Suasillo, and Cindy Muyleart.

Private graveside funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, December 18, 2020, at the graveside in Doctor’s Creek Baptist Churchyard in Walterboro.
