Mrs. Dolly Bryan Drawdy, affectionately also known as "Grand Doll" or "Aunt Doll", was born on April 11, 1920 to the late James Ivy and Annie Lee Priester Bryan, growing up in the Bells area of Ruffin, SC. She passed Sunday morning, June 17, 2012, at the age of 92.
She graduated from Walterboro High School in 1939 and went on to be a private secretary in the Supply Department of the U. S. Navy Yard in Charleston, SC in 1943. In 1945 she received a scholarship to the Draughon's Business Collage in Savannah, GA
In 1954 she moved to Bradenton, FL with her late husband Clarence T. Drawdy, Jr. and her four children: a son, LaMarr; daughters, Pansye Rollyson, Brenda Littler, and Marcia Gluszek. She is also survived by a brother, James "Bo" Bryan; 14 grand children; 13 great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 o'clock Friday morning, June 22, 2012 with services following at 12 noon in The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with Pastor Gilbert Linder officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin.
