Ms. Dodie A. Smith, 48, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Monday evening, November 30, 2020 at Trident Medical Center.
Born July 7, 1972 in Hampton County, she was a daughter of Larry B. Smith and Amelia E. Smith. She was a Dispatcher for Hampton county, which was her dream job. Before becoming a dispatcher, she worked for the Hampton County Animal Shelter. She was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. Anyone who knew Dodie, knew of her loves for animals, especially dogs and cats, and most of all, the love she had for her girls.
Surviving in addition to her parents of Varnville are her daughters, Meaghan A. Smith of Columbia, Bibiana A. Loza of Athens, Georgia, Adriana A. Loza of Pooler, Georgia, and Maria A. Loza of Varnville; and her special friend, Rose D. Elliott of Brunson.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Hampton County Animal Shelter, Spay and Neuter Program, 460 Cemetery Road, Varnville, South Carolina 29944.
A memorial service will be held 3 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, December 3, 2020 at Open Arms Fellowship Church.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1 o’clock until the hour of service in the church sanctuary.
