Mr. Dink Tripp, 81, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his residence near the Sniders Community of Ruffin.
Funeral services will be held 4 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, February 1, 2017 at The House of Prayer, 10756 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin. Interment will follow in Smoak Cemetery, Ruffin.
Born March 23, 1935 in Vanceboro, North Carolina, he was a son of the late LeDrew Tripp and Tiny Lavenia Wiggins Tripp. He was the owner of Tripp’s Garage at Snider’s. He served his country in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He loved fishing and was a master gardener. Everyone who knew him knew that his work was his life.
Surviving are: his wife, Marian Smoak Tripp of Ruffin; daughters, Tami Linder (Tony) of Smoaks and Tracy Kinard of Beaufort (Kent) of Islandton; a daughter-in-law, Beth Alderman Tripp of Ruffin; a brother, Marvin Tripp of Sniders; two sisters, Sudie Hudson and Joyce Brantley, both of North Carolina; grandchildren, Amanda Tripp Lane (Marshall), Michael Tripp, Jr., Brian Linder (Lindsey), Matthew T. Linder, Drew Tripp (Hannah) Dustin Tripp, and Tyler Kinard; great grandchildren, Christina, Josh, and Shelby; a great great grandchild, Braxton; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Tripp, Sr. and John Anthony Tripp.
