Mrs. Dimples Murdaugh Kelehear, 77, of Islandton, passed away at her home in the company of her loving family on Friday morning, April 16, 2010, after an extended illness and under the care of Winyah Hospice.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Sunday afternoon, April 18, 2010 from Rice Patch Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 15246 Sniders Highway, Islandton, with The Reverend George Dudley, The Reverend Larry Smith, and The Reverend Jim Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be: Rufus Gibson, Everette Polk, Laurie Sanders, Sammie Sanders. Don Sineath, and John Charles Sineath, Jr. Honorary escorts will be: Larry Crosby, Donald Lyons, Eric Polk, Ralph Polk, and Dale Ulmer.
Mrs. Kelehear was born August 2, 1932 in Islandton, and was a daughter of the late Gettys L. Murdaugh and the late Pearl Sineath Murdaugh. She was married for almost 56 years to Jack C. Kelehear, Sr., of Brunson. They were married on August 29, 1954 at Rice Patch Christian Church in Islandton.
Including her husband, she is survived by a son, Jack C. Kelehear, Jr., of Columbia, SC; a daughter, Kimberly K. Campbell and her husband David of Lexington; a brother, Eddie Bubba Sineath and his fianc Sheree Avant of Walterboro; two grandsons, Jacob B. Campbell and Jason T. Campbell of Lexington; a loving sister-in-law, Alice Murdaugh, of Islandton; and a sister-in-law, Donna Butler Sineath, of Islandton. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ronnie K. Murdaugh (April 5, 2010) and Charles Bunny Murdaugh (April 15, 2002.)
She was retired from the Department of Social Services in Columbia. She was an active member of Rice Patch Christian Church of Islandton, The American Rose Society, and the South Carolina State Employees Association. She was a graduate of Walterboro High School and had attended the University of South Carolina.
