Dexter Rodolphus Benton, 43, of Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday morning, January 10, 2013, at the Lake Marion Nursing Center in Summerton.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Saturday morning, January 12, 2013, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Born July 27, 1969, a native of Colleton County he was a son of Mrs. Doris Boodle Benton and the late Joseph Charlie Benton. A truck driver, he was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt and the NASCAR Motor Sports Racing and was also a motorcycle enthusiast. He was of the Holiness faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother Doris of Walterboro are: two brothers, Franklin Charlie Benton of Walterboro and Rickie Alex Benton of Manning; and a sister, Angelia Eve Simmons of Enoree. There are two children, Troy Murdaugh of Walterboro and Kristie Crosby of Walterboro, and two grandchildren, Haley and Taylor as well as several nieces and nephews that also survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Crosby.
