Dennis Nettles

Mr. Dennis Billy Nettles, Sr., 59, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest, Monday morning, February 7, 2022, at Colleton Medical Center.

Born April 14, 1962 in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Billy Weeks Nettles and Joyce Fender Nettles.  He had worked at Georgia Pacific as a rewinder operator.  He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and was a Mason.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature and fishing.  He enjoyed watching survivalist shows and especially loved trips to the Appalachian Mountains.

Surviving are: his wife of 32 years, Jean McJunkin Nettles of Walterboro; son, Dennis Billy Nettles, Jr. of Walterboro; mother-in-law, Peggy Holden McJunkin of Walterboro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Nettles Brandt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: American Diabetes Association, Post Office Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023; or to The Ronald McDonald House, 81 Gadsden Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29401.
