Mrs. Deborah Thurston Walker, 58, of Dorchester, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 2016, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 6 o’clock Friday evening, January 15, 2016, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Craig Crosby officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony that evening.
Born August 7, 1957, a native of Charleston, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ervin Franklin Thurston and the late Margie Caddell Driggers. Deborah was an avid and very talented gardener, having devoted a great deal of her life to agriculture and growing many beautiful flowers. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and “Me-Maw”. She was a Christian.
Surviving are: her husband, Mr. Russell Octavius Walker; a son, Russell James Walker and his wife Joy of Lenoir, North Carolina; and a daughter, Robin Michelle McCroan and her husband Michael of Dorchester; a brother, Kenneth Ray Thurston, Sr. and his wife Libby of Walterboro; and a sister, Sandra Cox and her husband Cliff of Ritter. There are six grandchildren, Amberly, Lexie, Miah, Zach, Cole, and Lucas. She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Thurston.
