David "Buck" Ryan

Mr. David Ryan, affectionately known by all as “Buck”, age 68, entered into rest Friday morning, November 10, 2017, at his home in Walterboro.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, November 14, 2017, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   Interment will follow in Doctor’s Creek Baptist Churchyard, 126 Doctor’s Creek Road, Walterboro.

Born October 29, 1949, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Thomas Lee Ryan and the late Estelle Kinard Ryan.  He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.  He was a retired loader operator from Twin Creek Logging and after his retirement became a well known icon to the locals in Ruffin at the Community’s Convenience Site.  He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting.

Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Sue Ryan; two children, Eric Ryan and his wife Gwen of Bamberg and Robin Rowell and  her husband Mark of Cope; four step-children, Kimm Greenwell and her husband John of Walterboro, Julie Bunting and her husband Tim of California, Sharon Lehane and her husband Dennis of California, and Jeff Westbrook of California; two brothers, Jake Ryan of Hampton and Billy Ryan of North Carolina; three sisters, Katherine Crosby of Walterboro, Judy Conley of Pennsylvania, and Nancy Alexander of Pickens; and two grandchildren, Taylor Rowell and Brianna Ryan, and a special pet, Baby Girl.
