David Wayne Morgan

Mr. David Wayne Morgan, 73, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday evening, November 14, 2017, at the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, November 19, 2017, from The Veteran’s Victory House, 2461 Sidneys Road, Walterboro.

Born October 22, 1944, in Madisonville, Texas, he was a son of the late Vivian Morgan and the late Maudine Bullard Morgan.  He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era as a Medic and was awarded the distinguished Purple Heart.  Wayne was a registered nurse and dedicated his life to helping others in the medical profession for over fifty years.  He served as a nurse administrator for numerous long term care facilities having traveled throughout the country.  He made Walterboro his home in 2003, and retired from the Veteran’s Victory House in 2016.   Wayne was a friend and mentor to many and even in retirement continued to remain as a dedicated volunteer. During his ten year career at the Veteran’s Victory House he received many awards and accolades for his esteemed service.   Wayne was a talented stained glass artist having created many beautiful works which are cherished mementos to many.

Surviving are: his husband, Mr. Scott Allen McGuffin; a daughter, Diane Morgan Cahal and her husband Bobby of Florida; a son, Douglas Morgan of Texas; two grandchildren, Zoe Cahal and Dustin Morgan.  He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well a large family of friends whose lives were forever changed by his sweet generosity.
