Mr. David Charles Griffin, 79, of Stanley Loop, Varnville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 4 pm, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Nixville Church of God of Prophecy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 pm until the hour of service at the church.
Mr. Griffin was born February 19, 1934 in Smoaks and was a son of the late Jack Perry Griffin, Sr. and Hattie Elizabeth Carter Griffin. He was a retired construction supervisor and served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Nixville Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed working with his flowers, and especially loved music.
Surviving are: his wife, Mildred Wall Griffin of Varnville; stepchildren, Allen DeLoach and his wife Donna of Guyton, Georgia, Ricky DeLoach of Hardeeville, South Carolina, Carl DeLoach and his wife Angie of Rincon, Georgia, Herman Smith and his wife Jackie of Beaufort, South Carolina, James Smith and his wife Martha of Beaufort, South Carolina, Wayne Smith and his wife Wanda of Grays, South Carolina and Linda Liliberte and her husband Lee of Lexington, South Carolina; sisters, Mary Jo Davenport of California and Christine Smith of Fayetteville, North Carolina; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
