Mrs. Danielle Dantzler Cummings, age 43, of Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, February 27, 2022, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston following a brief illness.
Born July 24, 1978, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Mr. James Daniel Dantzler and Mrs. Joy Maxcey Dantzler. She worked a dedicated career with Carolina Textile in Walterboro, where she has been for the past twenty-three years and was serving as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Danielle was a member and raised in her family’s church, Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro and had attended along with her husband and his family at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Her family and her work were her life. She centered her life around her children, whom she loved with her entire heart, always present at their events and always giving the best of what she had to them. She enjoyed reading and was a member of The Citadel Club, her son, Zach’s alma Matta.
Surviving in addition to her parents, James (Anna) and Joy (Harry Wimberly) are: her husband of twenty-one years, Mr. Jeffery Chad Cummings; three children, Matthew Chad Cummings of Walterboro, Zachary Shannon Crosby (Megan Garris) of Santee, and Morgan Caroline Cummings of Walterboro; a brother, George Long (April Carter) and his children, Ashley, Kelsey, Jackson, and Marleigh; her grandmother – her “Jumomma”, Mrs. Margaret Maxcey; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Carolyn Smith Cummings; and three brothers-in-law, Chuck Cummings (Lucy) and their children Lindsey and Benji, Scot Cummings, and Todd Cummings (Mary) and their son, Cole. She is also survived by a large and extended family whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Mr. Charles F. Cummings, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Thursday morning, March 3, 2022, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Doug Marchant officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Churchyard, 5277 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
