Dan Owsley

Mr. Dan Owsley, 87, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, August 29, 2023, at Lowcountry Community Hospice House in Summerville.

Born February 18, 1936, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Louis and Ida Gibson Owsley.   Dan served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era and retired from active service as an Aviation Electrician.  He also worked as a radio technician for the South Carolina Forestry Commission in Walterboro.  He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.  Dan enjoyed the outdoors and will always be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing.   His garden was always near and dear to his heart.

Surviving are: his wife of sixty-two years, Mrs. Ana Gutierrez Owsley; two sons, Dan Owsley (Gina) of Summerville and Adam Owsley (Tammy) of Charleston; three brothers, Manuel, Ronnie, and Bruce; two sisters, Christine and Jo; three grandchildren, Brittanye Trijo, Madison Moughler, and Victoria Owsley; and five great grandchildren, Tanyen, Lilli, Lennex, Riley, and Michael.
