Dan Edwards

Mr. Dan McCoy Edwards, 85, of Jacksonboro, entered into rest Monday evening, July 18, 2022, at his residence.  He was the loving husband of the late Mrs. Florence Hickman Edwards.

Mr. Edwards was born  July 22, 1936, in Jacksonboro, South Carolina and served our country faithfully in the United States Army.  He was a retired Slasher Operator having worked for many years with J. P. Stevens before eventually retiring from CCX.  He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Adams Run.   Mr. Dan will always be remembered as a hardworking and honest man.

Surviving are: four sons, McCoy Edwards, James Edwards, Sr., Richard DeWayne Edwards, I, and James Edwards, Jr. all of Jacksonboro; a daughter, Marcie Luna of Johns Island; a son-in-law, Tony Chubb of Jacksonboro; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Danette Edwards Chubb; and his mother, Anna Edwards.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, July 23, 2022, from Hopewell Baptist Church, 6869 Parker’s Ferry Road, Adams Run.  The Reverend Naveen Balakrisnan officiating.   Interment will follow in the churchyard.
