Curtis Rowell

Mr. Curtis Robert Rowell, 81, of Beaufort, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Bayview Nursing Home. He was the widower of Ella Mae Waltz Rowell.



Funeral services will be held 4:30 pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in Great Swamp Baptist Church in Ridgeland. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.



Mr. Rowell was born October 17, 1926 in Ridgeland and was a son of the late Robert Graham Rowell and Ruby Gertrude Dean Rowell. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Great Swamp Baptist Church in Ridgeland.



Surviving are: his sisters, Myrtle Smith of Grays, Mamie Lou Blocker of Beaufort, Evelyn Crews of Savannah, GA, Eva Calhoun of Savannah, GA and Barbara Ann Blocker of Ladys Island; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Leo Rowell and Frankie Rowell.
