WALTERBORO " Mrs. Constance Crosby Beach, affectionately known as Connie, age 87, of 831 Beach Road, Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest Saturday afternoon, June 27, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice Center in Charleston. She was married for sixty years to the late Mr. Arthur Utsey Beach.



Funeral services will be conducted 5 oclock Tuesday afternoon, June 30, 3009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Robert Craig officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.



Mrs. Beach was born August 7, 1921, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Stephen Slade Crosby and the late Donie Mae Benton Crosby. She was a member of Doctors Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro, where she was a member of the Womens Missionary Union and the Kings Daughters Sunday School Class and was formerly a Sunday School Teacher. She was a devoted homemaker and farmers wife, sharing many of the responsibilities of the family farm with her husband. Known by many for her good southern cooking; she will be remembered for the many wonderful meals her hands lovingly prepared for her family that brought many to her table on Sunday afternoons and special occasions. She delighted herself in sharing what she had with others, and for always being a compassionate mother, grandmother, and friend, always centering her life around those she loved.



Surviving are: a son, Arthur Stephen Stevie Beach of Walterboro; a daughter, Linda Beach Craven and her husband Dennis, of Green Pond; and a sister, Mrs. Merle Crosby Worden of Walterboro. There are two grandchildren whom she was always known to as Granny, Erin Leigh Craven and Jamie Elizabeth Craven, both of Green Pond.



Flowers will be accepted, or those that so desire, memorials in memory of her life, may be directed to Doctors Creek Baptist Church, for use with their Senior Meal program, Post Office Box 2, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
