Connie Edwins Reid

Mrs. Connie Edwins Reid, entered into rest peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Thursday, January 26, 2023, at her residence in Walterboro.

Born May 14, 1951, in Clinton, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Elliott Clarence Edwins and the late Annie Lou Edwins.   She graduated from Francis Marion University where she earned her teaching degree.  She later earned a Master of Education degree in Divergent Learning from Francis Marion.  She was a graduate research assistant and assisted with the Nation At-Risk Youth Conference.

Connie spent her entire career as a Special Education teacher in Chesterfield and Colleton Counties.  She made a difference in the lives of many students who needed her most.  She will be missed by her family and those who knew her.  She was a member of Saint Jude’s Church in Walterboro where she had formerly sang in the choir.

Surviving are: her husband, Craig Reid; two sons, Brian Reid and Ed Reid; and three grandchildren, Ashley, James, and Kaylee Reid.

A private graveside inurnment will be held at the Saint Jude’s Memorial Garden with The Reverend Newman H. Lawrence officiating.
