Connie Dixon

Mrs. Connie Polk Dixon, 71, of Lodge, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, August 12, 2021 at her residence.  She was the widow of the late Samuel Ernest “Teddy” Dixon, Jr.

Born May 14, 1950 at the Broxton Homestead in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the Faber Mazon Polk, Sr. and Elizabeth Griffin Polk.  She was a member of Ashton Baptist Church.  Connie was a registered nurse and a licensed massage therapist.  During her career she was a hospice nurse, having worked for Palmetto Health Hospice in Bamberg, and was also a dialysis nurse.  She loved all animals but especially her border collie, Festus.

Surviving are: her children, Wesley Linder and his wife Theresa of Smoaks and Nicki Webster and her husband Joe Willie of Lodge; fiancé, Walter Smith of Lodge; sister, Vickie Polk Cotterman and her husband Bob of Beaufort; and grandchildren, Reagan Blackburn, Oscar Donnelly, Andrea Donnelly, and Dylan Linder.  She was preceded in death by her son, Cayce Groves; sister, Nancy Polk McClellan; and brother, Faber “Bubba” Polk, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, August 15, 2021 at Ashton Baptist Church, 5156 Willow Swamp Road, Lodge.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
