Mr. Clement Jerry Craven, 57, of Brookwood Court in the Sandy Springs Subdivision of Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Monday afternoon, December 31, 2012, at Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Friday morning, January 4, 2013, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Lewis Faulkenberry officiating. Interment will follow on the family plot in Mount Carmel United Methodist Churchyard, 5277 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Born November 16, 1955, a native of Colleton County, he was the son of Mrs. Harriett Linder Craven and the late Mr. Clement C. Craven. He was a retired operator from Asten Hill Inc. in Walterboro. He was a lifelong member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Walterboro and was also a member of the Frazier Lake Hunt Club. Jerry was an outdoorsman and loved any form of hunting from duck to large game American Whitetail Deer. He also loved fishing the local freshwater rivers and creeks of Colleton County. He was an avid sportsman and found one of his greatest pastimes in life from attending and supporting his son's baseball and football games at Colleton Predatory Academy and the Colleton County Recreation Commission. He had also been actively involved in the local Boy Scouts of America Troup.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Walterboro are: his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Hughes Craven; and a son, Clement Jacob Craven of Walterboro. There are three sisters, Julia Craven Ellis and her husband Joe of Duncan, South Carolina, Joanne Craven Wesner and her husband John of Kingsland, Georgia, and Joy Craven Lamb and her husband Ron of Goose Creek, South Carolina; father and mother-in-law, Mr. Robert J. Hughes and Edith W. Hughes of Walterboro; and a brother-in-law, Tony W. Hughes and his wife Susan of Irmo, South Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that also survive.
