Clara Hudson Stanley

Mrs. Clara Hudson Stanley, 70, of Fire Hill Road, Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, May 18, 2014, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, May 21, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Ralph Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.

Born March 31, 1944, a native of Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Mendel B. Hudson and the late Ina Strickland Hudson. She worked for many years for Gravano Farms and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Ruffin Charge. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and was always in attendance with her husband at the Ace Basin ABATE rides, meetings, and gatherings. Her face was a pleasant addition to any group with her loving smile and the good natured spirit she possessed. She loved flowers as well as her family dearly. She was extremely proud of the 1955 Ford that her son and husband recently restored. She also loved the water and spending time at their home on the Edisto River.

Surviving are: her husband of fifty-three years, Mr. Larry F. Stanley; a son, Ken F. Stanley and his wife Gloria of Walterboro; a daughter, Donna S. Callis and her husband Ralph of Varnville; and a sister, Florence Benton of Walterboro. There are five grandchildren, April Lopez and her husband Daniel, Kenneth Stanley, Nikki Lynn Seighman and her husband Jason, Henry Callis and John Callis; four great grandchildren, Christopher Stanley, Marie Stanley-Lopez, Zachery Seighman, and Peyton Seighman; as well as her beloved dog, "YoYo". She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Stanley; four brothers, Tom Hudson, Leroy Hudson, Luke Hudson and Charlie Hudson; and a sister, Doris Polk.
