Clara Blocker Brown

Mrs. Clara Blocker Brown, 94, of Co-op Road West, Hampton, entered into rest Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018, at Pruitt Health Care in Estill.  She was the wife of the late Mr. Aaron W. Brown.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, February 10, 2018,   Varnville First Christian Church, 201 Sycamore Street, Varnville. The Reverend Mike Freeman officiating.  The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony in the church sanctuary.

Born November 29, 1923, in Walterboro, South Carolina, she the youngest and last surviving child of the late Arthur and Carrie Blocker.  She was a member of the Hampton First Baptist Church and will always be remembered for the love she possessed for her family.

Surviving are: two daughters, Glenda Freeman and her husband Wilbur of Hampton and Celest Mitchell of Hampton; a daughter-in-law; Vicki Brown; five grandchildren, Mike Freeman and his wife Debra, Tami Harvey and her husband Joe, Al Brown and his wife Nissee, Ashley Brown and Missy McCallie; twelve great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a son, Lamar Brown.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Pruitt-Health Hospice, 1605 North St., Beaufort, SC  29902.
