Mrs. Claire Brassard Filion, 78, of Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday morning, August 1, 2013, at Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant. She was the wife of the late Mr. Joseph Filion.
The final commendation and farewell will be celebrated 3 oclock Tuesday afternoon, August 6, 2013, from the graveside at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The Reverend Father Jeffery Kendall, officiant.
Born November 20, 1934, a native of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, she was a daughter of the late James Brassard and the late Corana Desmarais Brassard. She was a retired secretary from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she was dedicated for over twenty-six years. A member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Lakeland, Florida, she had attended locally at Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Walterboro.
Surviving are: a son, Mark Filion and his wife Annie of Walterboro; a brother, Gerard Brassard of Harrisville, Rhode Island; and a grandson, Jesse Filion and his wife Amy of Mount Pleasant.
