Born November 23, 1951 in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Hallie Hammond Blocker and the late Edith Hallie Robertson Blocker.  For the past twenty plus years, she has been a devoted homemaker, centering her life around her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was known as a hardworking person, and in her earlier years had worked at Asten Hill, J.P. Stevens and other places within the community.  A loyal and trusted friend, she was always a shoulder to lean upon or the voice of wise wisdom when needed.   She truly loved the outdoors – tending to her flowers and gardens, the beautiful pond situated outside their beloved home, and fishing.

Surviving are: her husband of thirty years, Mr. Johnny G. McGrady; four children, David Thomas Blocker of Walterboro, Troyce Jean Ackerman of Islandton, John Anthony Ackerman of Walterboro, and Edith JoAnn Ackerman of Walterboro; three sisters, Gloria Jean Lyons of Walterboro, Nancy JoAnn Blocker Jarvis of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and Linda Annette Blocker Danford of Salters; and one step-brother, Kenneth Hair.   There are seven grandchildren, Hallie Blocker, Josh Blocker, Julia Crosby, Logan Hiers, Lacy Lee, Savannah Lee, and J.T. Lee that also survive.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Hallie Kirk Blocker; two step-brothers, Albert Hair and Jimmie Hair; and nephews, Edward Lyons, Jr. and Dean “Bubba” Price.
