Cindel Lawson

Cindel Maria Lawson, 38, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, July 16, 2026, at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Born July 17, 1987, in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Jacky Lynn Lawson and Julia Floyd Lawson. Cindel graduated from Walterboro High School where she was active in Cross-Country. For over 14 years, she worked as a Dispatcher for the Colleton County Sheriff's Office and had been a part of the Explorer Program through the sheriff's office when she was in high school. Currently, Cindel was working in the landscaping business. She attended Live Oak Fellowship of Islandton.

Cindel loved big. She was larger than life and the center of the room no matter where she was. Her smile was infectious; and her personality and love of life made everyone around her feel loved. Cindel was devoted to her family and especially loved her nieces and nephews. She always made a point to do anything for anyone that she could. She was an avid Clemson Tiger fan, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved having cookouts and bonfires. But if you knew Cindel, you knew that most any time, you could find her riding around in her truck.

Surviving are: her parents, Jacky Lawson and Julia Lawson; her wife, Kristin Spateholts Lawson; stepchildren, Kinsley Hawk, Kaylee Hawk, Mark Lovelace, and Terri Lovelace; brother, Cameron Lawson and his wife, Stevie; nieces and nephews, Vivian, Abigail, Liam, and Elliott; aunt, GiGi Stanfield and her husband James; uncle, John Stanley Lawson and his wife Linda; and many cousins including three very close cousins, Angela Irwin, James Stanfield II, and Charles Stanfield. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Georgia Floyd, and John and Mavis Lawson; cousin, D.J. Meranto; and an uncle, Billy Floyd.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2026, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Friday evening from 5 until 8 at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro. 843.538.5408. Visit the registry online at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com.
