Christy Freeman

Mrs. Jennifer Crystal Hiers Freeman, 51, of Beaufort, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, May 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Christy was born on May 4, 1973, to Barbara Ann and Terry L. Hiers, Sr. in Allendale, South Carolina.  Christy graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1991.

In 1999, Christy met the love of her life after reconnecting with an old friend from high school.  Christy and Bryan went on to have 25 inseparable years together.

Christy cherished her fur babies, Peyton Manning, rock concerts, delicious food, traveling, and being near the water.  Above all, Christy cherished her roles as a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bryan Freeman; her parents, Barbara Ann and Terry Hiers; her mother-in-law, Dot Freeman; her brother, Luke Hiers (Jessie); and her sisters, Kelyne Buxton (Shawn), Kenzie Lomasney (Zach), Kerry DeLoach (Brandon), and Kerissa Hiers (Jake). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Tina Boyles (Charlie); brother-in-law, Ray Freeman; and her closest friend from childhood, Angie Cain. There are five nieces and four nephews that Aunt Sissy adored.

Christy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Capers and Reba Hiers, and Martin and Lois Ginn; and her father-in-law, Raymond Freeman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Hampton County Animal Shelter in her memory, an organization Christy cared deeply about.

A Celebration of Christy’s Life will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, May 11, 2024, at Varnville First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 366 Rentz Street, Varnville, South Carolina.  The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Saturday from 10 am until the hour of service.
