Christopher Bowers

Terence Christopher Bowers, 59, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday morning, February 27, 2026, at Pruitt Health in Walterboro.

Born January 3, 1967, in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Clarence Bowers and Mamie Dell Pye Avant. Chris worked as a stocker for Winn-Dixie, BiLo, and retired from Food Lion in Walterboro. He was an avid wrestling and Clemson Tiger fan, enjoyed cooking, and loved all genres of music and movies. Most of all, Chris loved his family and friends and spending time with them.

Surviving are: his brothers, Heath Bowers and his wife Windy of Walterboro, Matthew Watts Avant and his wife Heather of Greenville, and Marshall Lee Avant and his wife Micki of Walterboro; special friends that he loved as family, Gilbert and Lisa Jones of Smoaks; nieces and nephews, Tyler Bowers (Erika), Blake Bowers (Shannon), Ainsley Stanley (Isaac), Abby Avant, Landon Avant (Kelsey), Gracie Tyler (Matthew), Noah Avant (Kiersten), and Luke Avant; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Bowers, Mamie Dell Avant, and Ronald Lee Avant.

A memorial service will be held 5 o’clock Friday evening, March 6, 2026, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the service.
