Chris Fail

Christopher Dale Fail, known by all as “Chris”, age 51, entered into rest Monday morning, June 22, 2026, at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

Born July 28, 1974, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Mrs. Debra Giggleman Fail and the late Mr. Herman Fail. He was employed with Boeing in Charleston and had previously worked with the Savannah River Site as well as Georgia Pacific. He will always be remembered as an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as the love he possessed for his girls and grandchildren which were the true joys of his life.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Ruffin are: his wife, Kimberly Hooks Fail; three daughters, Ashlan Smiers (Alex), Taegan Fail (Caleb), and Addison Fail; two brothers, Zachary Fail (Jessie) and Trenton Fail; and two grandchildren, Huxlen Smiers and Blakelin Fail. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Denise Hooks; a uncle, Tommy Singletary (Frankie); two nephews, Stephen Singletary and Shawn Singletary; and dear friends Trent Benton and Shawn Gerard as well as countless friends who were his coworkers at Boeing.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to the American Heart Association.
