Charlie Ackerman

Mr. Charlie Ackerman, Jr., 79, of Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, September 8, 2010, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was the husband of the late Jeanette Hiers Ackerman.



Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Saturday afternoon, September 11, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro, with The Reverend Otis Borden officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Cottageville.



Mr. Ackerman was born August 30, 1931, in Cottageville, and was a son of the late Charlie Ackerman, Sr. and the late Ida Ackerman. He was a retired employee of Asten Hill in Walterboro and attended the Holiness Tabernacle.



Surviving are: a son, Chuck Ackerman and his wife Myrtice of Walterboro; a daughter, Rhonda Bazzle and her husband James of Walterboro; a brother, Danny Hall of North Carolina; and a sister, Maggielee Metts of North Carolina. There are four grandchildren, Charles Ackerman, Jr., Jamie Bazzle, Kevin Bazzle, and Krystle Davis; as well as four nieces and nephews that also survive.
