Charles Smith, Sr

Mr. Charles Perry Smith, Sr., 84, of Cummings, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 11, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Monday, January 14, 2013 at Deep Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born September 27, 1928 in Jasper County and was a son of the late Archie Edwards Smith and Bertha Robinson Smith. He retired from Westinghouse and was a member of Deep Branch Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and farming.

Surviving are: his wife of 62 years, Beatrice Hull Smith of Cummings; children, Charles “C.P.” Smith, Jr. and his wife Elease of Cummings, Michael Gene Smith, Sr. and his wife Gwen of Cummings and Sandy Smoak and her husband Ralph of Walterboro; 7 grandchildren, Amy Scheer, Robin Smith, Stacy Smith, Jamie Smith, Michael Smith, Alex Smoak and Connie Gugel; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 7 brothers.
