Mr. Charles Henry Smyly, 66, of 215 Uncle Bubs Lane, Ruffin, died Monday afternoon, September 29, 2008, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Friday morning, October 3, 2008, from the graveside at Smyly Cemetery, Ruffin.



Mr. Smyly was born November 24, 1941, in Colleton County and was a son of the late Edward English Smyly and the late Helen Leona Moore Smyly. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was a retired Iron Worker from Fluor Daniel Construction. He loved to hunt and fish, and will be remembered by those who knew him for his love of gardening and family.



Surviving are: two sons, Frank Horton, Sr. of Walterboro and William Tilley, Jr. of Islandton; two daughters, Wilma Clements of Dillwyn, Virginia and Allison Parnell of Islandton; and three brothers, Raymond Edward Smyly and his wife Sarah Ann of Ruffin, William Lamar Smyly of Ruffin, and Robert Allen Smyly of Ruffin. There are numerous grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews that also survive.
