Mr. Charles Marion Rickenbaker, 86, of 409 Forest Hills Road in Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Friday afternoon, March 22, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2012, from the graveside at Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Blvd, Walterboro, with The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating.

Mr. Rickenbaker was born December 20, 1925, in Columbia, South Carolina and was a son of the late Marion Rickenbaker and the late Myra Moore Rickenbaker. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II and was retired from J. P. Stevens in Walterboro. He was of the Christian faith and was a Master Mason holding his fifty year membership at Unity Masonic Lodge No. 55 Ancient Free Masons in Walterboro.

Surviving are: his wife of sixty-three years, Mrs. Lawana Varn Rickenbaker; two sons, Heyward Wayne Rickenbaker of North Charleston and Michael Bryan Rickenbaker of Walterboro; and a sister, Bertie McDannold of Saint Petersburg, Florida.
