Mr. Charles Richard Coker, known by many as “Ricky”, age 74, of Hanahan, entered into rest Tuesday morning, March 5, 2024, at Saint Frances Hospital in Charleston.
Born August 17, 1949, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late William Washington Coker and the late Nettie Mae Kirby Coker. He was the owner of Coker Welding Service and will always be remembered for his strong and devoted work ethic. He attended along with is wife at Oakley Road Church of God as well as at Heritage Holiness Church. He took great pride in tending to his garden and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are: his wife of thirty-eight years, Mrs. Beatrice Bazzle Coker; three children, Richard Bryan Coker (Stacy) of Hanahan, Denise Carol Coker of Missouri, and Tanice Lane Thorn of Tennessee; a brother, Jerry Coker of Hanahan; a sister, Diane McKenzie of Kingstree; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Jean Moore.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2024 from Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. The Reverend Lacey Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 2 o’clock that forming.
