Charles Rodger Pierce, Sr.

Mr. Charles Rodger Pierce, Sr., 61, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, April 3, 2022, at his residence.

Born October 2, 1960, in Greenville, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Mr. George Harold Pierce and Mrs. Ann Shelton Pierce.  He worked as a mechanic at Boeing for many years.

Mr. Rodger was known as a hard worker who was always working to provide for his family.  In the community and when his children were growing up, he was known as a beloved coach in several different sport affiliations.  This love continued over the years by showing his support at his grandchildren’s sport activities.

Mr. Pierce is survived by: his son, Charles Rodger Pierce, Jr. (Moya); his daughter, Beth Cole (Phillip); his longtime life partner, Tamara Hughes; step-children, Derek Nonnamaker, Melissa Davidson and Kandice Allen; grandchildren, Baines, Baylor, Leah-Claire, Katelyn, Madison, Levi, Preston, Jackson, Annabelle, Maddie, Peyton, and Rowan. He is also survived by a brother, Michael Pierce (Liz).

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Pierce.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, April 7, 2022, from the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
